no im talking about some anti-NATO penetration armor. most armor these days are light and provide some protection to allow the soldier to run. im going to be making some heavy armor which while i can't run for shit but at least i got maximum protection.

Trenchcoat over riot gear would work, but you'd need to bodge together something for the backpack thing.  The chest looks more like a boilerplate than riot gear too, but that's just texture.

its not that heavy... maybe 20-30 pounds distributed through out the body.

Yeah it's not so much the melee or the "big" guns you have to worry about, it's more the sniper.  Or the guy with the fast gun who starts taking time to aim for the head.

Heavy armor isn't practical anymore. This isn't a game. That's why armor is designed around making sure you just don't get killed these days.

For simple- Armor isn't heavy for a reason.

now even those can be stopped, im trying to leave only 10% exposure, the hands will have a special interlocking armor design which allows knife blocking. now sure you can still stick it between the joints but im making sure there is a little window for that, even if your opponent sits on you. (ok i can't stop everything, what do you want from me, elbow blades?)

Even if small arms and melee weapons can't hurt you, a molotov cocktail will still ruin your day.
