I think I recall hearing that whenever he drew detailed schematics for these war machines, he always broke them in some subtle way:  Some parts that would get in each others' way, some gears that wouldn't quite work as they appeared, et cetera.  That way, nobody could actually use them for war--at least not without his help.  He just liked designing them for kicks and didn't want anyone to get hurt.

I noticed I identify way more with Karkat than Nepeta, and then this happens.  It's like he knew.  He is in sync with the cosmos.
