Kinda a redundant statement but: Steam Holiday Sale.

My collection is still growing, and cashing in my recent paychecks put coals back into the fire. More steam!!

Thank God this is practically a 1-time purchase, but not 1-time sale. Fortunately, I'm not this reckless often (buying-wise). Plus, considering I've been generous all year (practically been a financial crutch for some, they still owe me), it's my time to be selfish for once anyway.

The Complete Sherlock Holmes. Bought it yesterday at Barnes and Noble, but it's not just any old Sherlock Holmes novel. Barnes and Noble, in the most ingenious book-publishing idea I've seen in years, is publishing books in a fancy, old style. Leather-bound (thin leather, but still leather) and with gold leaf on the pages (probably fake, but still pretty), as well as a ribbon bookmark. And the cover art uses some imagery from the stories, as well as the entire back cover, which incorporates the pictures into a fancy pattern. And it only cost 20 bucks. They had quite a few books done like this, but I wanted to get Sherlock Holmes anyways.

I'll see if I can get some pictures of these books. They had Arabian Nights and the entire Chronicles of Narnia. Oh yeah, and the complete Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series (including the fifth book, sadly). And they were done just beautifully. The site says it's the "Barnes and Noble Leatherbound Classics".

This is the Sherlock Holmes book, and looking at the similar items section, some other books catch the eye. I don't think the complete works of Edgar Allen Poe have ever had a better cover. And somehow the new/old combination present on the seven H.G. Wells novels works pretty well. I can definitely see myself buying a couple more of these books soon.

Wow, those actually look real nice.
The Poe one matches very well.
You never see attached bookmarks anymore, and that's a real shame.

I found out that if you get any person to see Watchmen, from that point forward they will forever correctly pronounce Rorschach.
I was delighted to find that I had been pronouncing it correctly!
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
quite a good film, if somewhat gratuitious.

Also, I got Assassin's Creed II for christmas, and have been playing it in most of my spare time since. 'Tis awesome. I should really unwrap the other presents.

Lucky! I wish I could get some help... I'm kind of at a point where I only semi-understand OOP. I also want to make a simple game or something in SDL, but I haven't really gotten around to it.

This place looks so beautiful in the rain.

And the amount of rain we're getting lately is fairly good, too. We've actually got green grass around the place.

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

Finally got Beyond Good and Evil to run without mangling videos, audio and graphics. Ye gods, is it too much to ask Ubisoft to fix up that game for modern systems so that I don't have to deal with a task manager and a potentially harmful third party program?

Anyway, that certainly is an end to the spam you guys got while I was trying to run the game.

I was playing Warhammer last night on vassel, and I had got my nobs and warboss to my enemy's tanks, which all got wreaked. the rest of the game was disappointing, but destroying his Lemans and Hydras made it all worth it.

Yesterday I woke up after taking a tranquilizer... An I felt completely better. Not even any effects of my concussion...

Also had a really good talk with a friend, made up for the rest of the day being painful, scary, confusing, and depressing.

Harold and Maude was just on. What a great movie.

EDIT:
And moments just after hitting send, a plane just buzzed by the house. I mean, decent size, and pretty low. Neat.
