I find out my DVD drive has finally bit the dust. I bumped it once a couple years back and it never really worked right after that. It means I can't install CoD: Black Ops off of the disc. My only other option is to digitally activate it.

Downloading 8 gigs. In under an hour. Yessssssss

I'm something of a ghost.
Lot's of people know me, but I never seem to be at the centre of attention, nor am I excessively awkward.
I also seem to be somewhat mysterious, as in, people know me, but almost nobody knows much about me.

Meanwhile, I was just out in the yard, and there are a bunch of peacocks.
Their honk is annoying as hell, but gods damn, I want those feathers.
Unfortunately, I can't get close, and all the good branches for making snares are out of reach.

I was essentially well-known by name (kudos to having many siblings before me in school, and their whole social network spanning the town (I'm like Kevin Bacon; I have 6-degrees of separation from everyone in my town thanks to them, and them also knowing some of my old comrades.)), however, nobody knows me as well as they think. Not even those I've been around since elementary school. Let's just say in my social life, I value associates more than friends... basically because I can't place a value on actual friends I don't actually have.

I'm not a fan of the fact that once I finally achieved happiness with solitude and everything (which took longer than it should), everyone's been ragging on me to become social. I find it funnier that the very same people that have been ragging on me to be social were the very same people that advised me to make peace with solitude and take advantage of it. If this is a joke, I'm not laughing. Kinda a reason I stopped taking anyone's advice anymore and just followed instinct from then on.

Everybody always wants you to socialize in the same way as them. I just do the whole "wise-beyond-years-listener" deal and it works. Everybody always comes around to talk to me, and my class of 200 all know me right away, and know my schedule and stuff. It's like the football players in movies, except instead of endless adoration and a demand for parties, I get mad respect and people just want to chill. I'll go out riding my bike through the city and I'll just pick people up along the way because a friend saw me and called their neighbor and they chased me down and stuff. I'm like Itnetlolor though; I really care for these people and they obviously like me, but I don't view them as friends.

Yes, but the whole 'My friends don't know me" thing is rather silly. I mean, you'd only really open up to a lover, or confidante anyway. So it's fairly assured that your friends wouldn't know the real you. I doubt that I know my good friends as much as I'd think, but, it doesn't trouble me. As for my best friends, well, they fit into the former two categories for me, so it doesn't matter.

I barely know myself really. I'm not sure if that is horribly bad or unbelievably good, but I have a feeling it could be one of those two extremes.
