This is going to sound really crazy but…
I didn't have any headaches learning the game.

I'm just here to argue about politics and religion.

Have I got a forum for you buddy. When trolls get tired of being jerks, and want to relax and act like normal people, they go here,

Heh, I was kidding. I don't go anywhere near those topics anymore.

Remember the headache of learning the entire game? Well now you get that from the military screen. Have fun with the rest of it.

The military screen isn't even that bad anymore. It was only a pain for me when it first debuted and half the stuff was broken anyway. Hunters hunt now, and recruits don't spar themselves to starvation, etc etc.

You don't know the half of it.  Literally.  I was lucky enough to be chosen (along with other people) to playtest the long-anticipated April release, about a month before Toady publicly released it, to give him some feedback on the new interfaces and hunt for bugs and crashes.  If you think that April release and the new military screen was/is a bear, you have no fucking idea what it was like when Toady didn't think it was good enough to stake his name on.

That's a significant part of why I lost my taste for DF (which stands to reason, being the bugtest phase).  But it just got a little too complex for me to totally learn, and I've never really worked up the gumption to try again.

Woo spooky
I also ran into this by accident looking for Darker than Black songs.  I was like, "this sounds more like an old metal song man, not animes."
And of course, TRANSFORMERS

Yeah, to be honest, I really don't find the military screen very difficult at all. It's all rather simple, once you learn it.

Maybe us old bears are made of tougher stuff, eh?

17 and 18 year olds don't quite seem like the oldest bears ever.

Although how old do bears live for?  I guess we would be old then.

where is this from?

Newgrounds.
Art.
Guro, specifically.
That guy does some amazing descriptions and that one is my favourite.

Heh, he does brutal stuff and people are like '000000 This is nasty, why would you draw it?' and when he does not so brutal stuff, people are like '10, but where's all the blood? And why are her limbs still intact? D:'

Wait, why do we have orphans in our boards who don't activly play the game? Not that I am objecting, I like anybody who shows up and dosn't insult me too much, but what's the attraction?

I came for the Mafia--I like the boards here much better than I do any of the others I've frequented for that purpose.  Never played DF, never will play DF.

I haven't played DF in a year, so yeah.

I did have a community fortress that ran for like 16 fortress years though.  It's actually old enough I don't remember much about it.  I know for a fact I'd start another community fort when I actually play the next DF.  I promised myself to donate at least once a year though.

I don't see what's confusing about that.  Are you asking why, or is it just unfathomable?

I think he's implying that the very idea is unfathomable.

It is very fun, it's a shame your unwilling to try, but if it it not for you, I'm happy that you chose to stick around.  :)
