So, hold on... most programs aren't compatible with Linux, and the ones that are, run slower? Why would you ever want it then?

actually, I get higher FPS in TF2 in linux than in windows.

Linux is faster overall.
So if a program is compiled natively for Linux, it loads and runs pretty fast.
GIMP loads up in about 1.5 seconds for me.
Wine, runs some things great (TF2, no$), but other things horribly (MSP, Touhou).

Okay, I managed to install Windows 7 Ultimate without a hitch, and I have to say I'm liking this more than Vista. Maybe it's because of the Ultimate bit. Yay! :D

My Debian dual-boot won't start now, though. I'll have to reinstall it to get the GRUB bootloader back, I guess.

No biggie though. I didn't have anything important in it.
