Indeed, they likely saw this storm approaching along with the cold front and decided a snow day was needed. Although the joke was more directed at implying a massive column of hot air rising from the general location.

Just had an 11 hour drive up to Dumas. No snow so far, even this far north. Still, there'll be snow in Colorado.
