All of England has gone into oh-god-snow mode.

'We're running out of grit.'
'The snow was heaviest in _____'
'The roads are very busy.'
'We're RUNNING out of GRIT.'
'The snow could be even heavier tonight, with most of it over _____'
'The roads are blocked, with some places having snow around 2(!) inches deep.'
'WE ARE RUNNING OF SODDING GIRT! ARGH!'
...
...
...
'NO GRIIITTTT!!'

Sigh, it happens nearly every year, and still takes them by surprise. Silly mainlanders.
Still, at least they get snow.

What does grit mean? I found http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grit_bin using Google; does that mean that grit = road salt?

Grit seems to be a term for small grains of hard stuff. Larger than sand grains, smaller than pebbles, it could be anything.

Seems DC is about to get a foot of snow if we are lucky. And now I'm watching the entire city go crazy over the snow as some sort of annual frigid apocalypse.

 Good times.

Got a handful of achievements and crap for my classes. Pyro is pretty fun to play as, but I prefer Heavy. I seem to know how to provide proper support-fire with them.

Today was the last day of school before break. Traditionally, this day has always been a "do whatever you want" day.

So I had an awesome jam session with some other guys. But there was only one guitar and one bass between like six of us, so we had to take turns. Ah, well. 'Twas awesome nonetheless, and I learned a few things from some of the more skilled players.

Also played some DDR, even though I utterly suck at it.

Plus, I won a round of Twister and tied the next. I would've won the third round, but one of my friends (who weighs like 180 pounds/81 kg) landed on my ankle and twisted it.

I got a box of goblin fanatics as an early present from the guy who runs the Warhammer club at my college.

I'm rather pleased to have actually waken up anytime before 1PM. Plus, quite a few people are going to be visiting today. I won't be available for the better part of the day.
