I read and smile at all the happy things people have happen, and feel bad for the sad things, but if we all replied to all of them, well, it would kind of defeat the purpose in my opinion.
Right, except - and good lord I feel like such a tool for using this cheesy of a term but it's the easiest one to grab and run with, so sorry in advance - it's just the 'popular kids' who are ever responded
to. Obviously not every post will generate discussion or interest people, but when it's consistently the same people over and over who start conversations it's hard to believe that it's a coincidence rather than that it's just the fact that it's them.
There's no point in going around and trying to identify where people 'stand' on the great and mighty rungs of Forum Influence because it would get utterly masturbatory but the point is that I don't find this thread very inclusive at all and I'd be quite happy if the general flow of things was more accommodating, as I know how much it sucks to try and join a community that refuses to acknowledge you.
I got responded to here plenty when I was an epicnew member.

Janet pretty much owns the thread. That has alot of power concerning things like this.
'Owns' is a good word; the 'rules' of it seem to bend on a whim and it really does get arbitrarily locked quite a lot (relatively speaking). (holy shit mindmaker gets a ninja in on two separate points through two separate posts)
(why am I still here? bluh, procrastination. disconnecting internet for a while to get real work done; will check back and see how this all ended later)
