There was a few year in middle school where the teachers bitched at my inability to write cursive because "You need it for high school"

Then I got to high school and the only thing they bitch about is writing in pen.

Replace "middle school" with "elementary school" and "bitched at" with "bitched at and forced me to practice for untold hours on" and you have my experiance with cursive.

It's been too long since I bothered to write in cursive, the only thing I think I could write is my signature, which is crappy and different every time. That, and the letter "z".

Why do I remember the letter "z" so well?! It was so f@$king hard to write!

Best bagel sammich ever: 1 bagel toasted to taste, miracle whip on the bottom half, sliced turkey breast, 1 slice provolone cheese, thick sliced bacon, another slice of provolone, topped with mustard and with cream cheese spread on the top half of the bagel. Awesome.

Toasted Everything bagel, both halves buttered and layered with cream cheese with chives and garlic mixed in, salmon strips, bacon (plenty of it), egg (scrambled or sunny-side). Best bagel sandwich ever.

Also, in case you have a local bagel shop (like Bagel World in my town), get those instead of some from a market. The quality difference is worth the price.

I used to like my bagels with a little bit of cream cheese, plus tomato slices and cucumber.  Can't really eat them any more, though... like fried noodles, they remind me too much of stressful times.

Plus, they're really bad for you.  I usually don't eat white flour.



Other happy things:

I raided the Polish section at the library.  Yield:

2 children's books
1 book on learning Polish
4 history books
6 weird films that all seem to have the same plot.  The plot is: "being a depressed Pole is a complex thing."  Better than French cinema, so I'm not complaining.

Unfortunately, that was all they had.  At least there was something.
