Just goes to show you. Every message board needs a no religion or politics discussion rule. Because those are painful enough in person already when internet anomitity makes it worse even.

As such I kinda consider both sensitive topics for this topic itself too. So I think we should just move on from that thread being finally locked before someone barges in and tries to continue it in here.

@Janet: We don't have a problem with talking about politics on Bay12. Sure it can get a little heated, but thats politics. Topics about religion are the real tinderboxes so to speak.

It's just a generalization really. I haven't seen a politics discussion bubble over here but that's probably due to a certain demographic being here mostly. But usually. Those are the two flamebait topics on most boards and is why a lot just ban discussion on both outright.

Speak for yourself.  I'm in them all the time, and it's hard to tell the genuine hatred from the intentionally-provocative hatred.  To the extent there's really a difference.

And even when there's no argument happening, it's because everyone's gotten wrapped up in a back-patting circle jerk, hating on something outside the thread.
