Just survived my El Presedente campaign on a random island in Tropico 3 (30 game years). Got pretty good ratings and a hefty swiss bank account amount. Might try out the regular campaign and challenge maps later.

I was well liked early on, but then the radio's been going off like mad with Betty Boom beating the crap out of my reputation with her conspiracy theories. Apparently tax cuts and other "back to the people" edicts go by unnoticed. Because I had a lot of lazy Tropicots, I had to enact prohibition. Anger towards me for enacting it on their lazy asses, but noting for when I repeal it? What the hell people? I'm your lovable dictator.

I had to give back a tax cut of a massive lump sum especially after I got an export nearing 100k. I just had to feel generous. I think I managed to have both Commies and Capitalists like me for a solid decade during that campaign.

3 Day D and D Marathon starting today, hells yeah!

Finally got Dragon Age: Origins: Awakening working!  It's very intriguing, it reminds me a lot of the second half of Neverwinter Nights 2, the part where you get Crossroad Keep.  You actually get a keep (with a treasure chest to store unlimited goodies) that you're based out of.  You have to do a lot of annoying errands like finding granite and metal deposits, but the good voice acting and good 'ol hardcore gaming makes it worthwhile.

And the bosses.  They are the stuff of nightmares

I'm about to go to sleep after blowing a fourteen hour day.  Didn't really do any of the things I originally planned to, but I had a good time with Janet and my new game project idea thing is falling together nicely.  Not what I really wanted to occupy myself, but something worthwhile anyway.  Pity I have to devote the next two days to writing another essay.  ...The very last essay I'll have to write...  Whoa, I didn't even think about that.

Also, I can't believe I didn't think to check up on the story, but this was pretty awesome-



Tom DeLay convicted of money laundering and criminal conspiracy - provided he doesn't beat the appeals process (which seems doubtful), he'll be one of the first guys I can think of to actually serve prison time (minimum seven years I suppose) for crooked politics.  My joy at hearing this isn't even really political, the guy's just a serious jackass.  All I need now is...
