It's projected on to glass, not a screen.  To the best of my knowledge, it fits all the technical requirements of being a hologram (a 3d image projected on to a 2d surface).

This is a video of the 600th anniversary for the Astronomical Clock in Prague, using the same technology.

This + Augmented Reality = Interactive holographic display.  I'm excited about what people will do with this once it becomes more well known.
