Wouldn't that make air bubbles and leave you with a vibrator frozen into your cubes?

Put the vibrator under it.

Still a waste of a good vibrator.

My idea is that the air would be shaken up to the top, so the ice would be clear. The device would be placed on the top of the rack, perhaps with cardboard (or most likely frozen dinner boxes) to keep it on there.

I originally though of vibrating dog toys, but they tend to be ball-like and would fall in.

Cylinders have just as much issues with rolling as Spheres do.

Duct tape will prevent all of these 'rolling' issues. Though it might make your cardboard taste funky if you plan on eating it afterwards.

The cardboard and perhaps duct tape sounds like a plan.
(I'd like to spend a few hours sculpting ice)
((Is there an easier way of getting clear ice))

The vibrator thing is pretty ridiculous.

Boil the water first and minimize the amount of time between boiling and freezing it.

The most technical solution would be as such: To have air bubbles in your ice, you need air. Remove the air, and you remove the problem entirely. Now, I'm not sure how you'd go about vaccum sealing an ice tray, but I'm sure you can think of somthing. Improvise.

I need clear ice cubes that don't have any white air bubbles in them.

Is there an easier way to do this than buying a vibrator and sticking it in the freezer along with the water overnight? Do the batteries last long enough to agitate the water until it freezes?
I don't know about the length of time, but batteries tend to not work well when they're frozen.

We may have a winner here. My concerns for this would be if the plastic tray would melt when hot water is poured into it, and if air would get trapped during the pouring the same way it does from the kitchen sink to the freezer.
(I'm going to try this first tomorrow, granted its free and the simplest)
