Why would someone need to take an ethics class? Doesn't make any sense to me.

I dunno, you guys have survived Thomas the tank engine, golems, zombies, nuclear explosions, laser whales, and being on the same team as ragnarock.  I don't think something as tame as a world ending rain of lava will even slow you guys down.

That's not a good reason.

Political practice, so they can learn how to avoid them when they plan on becoming politicians or CEOs. The ethics part, that is.

There's an ethics requirement for my Computer Science major. No, it doesn't make sense.

I have a history requirement with my math major.

Response: History of math.  They'll never catch me!

Actually, I can kind of see that. They want to make sure you don't get into TEH HAX.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I'm also using intro to logic for my philosophy requirement.  If I weren't doing that, though, I'd go with...

The philosophy of mathematics.

I love my university and its strange courses.

Meh. You can put almost anything as Free Choice Credits subjects. In fact, that's the point of Free Choice Credits.
I've mentioned this before, but I got away with Human Sexuality as my diversity requirement as a Biology major.
Usually such subjects are far less amusing that they sound like.

I guess I did the opposite sort of thing; when presented with flexibility in my curriculum, I go all over the board. I figured I'd get enough Biology through my main requirements, so the further I could spread my learnin' across the board, the better. Thus, Art History, Non-Western Literature, Creative Writing, 2 Physics courses, Intro to Archaeology, etc.

If I had the time and money, I would amass so many Bachelors Degrees, it wouldn't even be funny.
