Capitalism, ho!

Wait, did he try to reduce the price even more each time he made a skill check for a discount when the previous check rolled a failure?

Make no mistake, you didn't sell the car but you won that.  He just spent two hours round-tripping across Dallas in the middle of the night.

Hell yeah, I play the fiddle and they come a dancin'.  Trying to spook me with noises and crap, like I don't know my own damn car.  You lose, you codger.

Wait, did he try to reduce the price even more each time he made a skill check for a discount when the previous check rolled a failure?

Yes, yes he did.  He claimed to have a dealer's license, so I assume he was trying to give me the hard-sell.  Hard-sell on my own damn car.

Yeah, those old men are so stingy.

It's a Thankful Statue, scrooge.  You can't get these for less than 3000gp.  I'm down to 85% of the catalog value here, either buy it or get out of my store.

For some reason this makes me really want to play Recettear.  I'm in the middle of conquering Poland though.  I want to see how the war will go if I don't piss off Russia.

It has its charms.  The dialogue is stand-out among games, because although unmistakably Japanese, you can tell it's not just translated and actually written with Western perspective.  Gameplay's good too.

I'm going to take a wild guess that you're playing Total War.  Tell me I'm right, for some unfathomable reason I've got a hankering to play it again myself.

Yeah, I want to play that, but I don't know if I'll be able to get a copy.  May need to wait a few years.

I find this conversation hilarious. This must be what I sounded like when I was in that mostly French guild. It gets surprisingly easier to read after a bit.

Well, I was talking about Medieval: Total War: 2: Kingdoms (colons!), but you've just reminded me that a newer game of that series exists.  Haven't played Empires, but I've heard bad things.  Medieval is pretty fun, but forget about pirating it - the installation alone is 12 gigs, so I can't imagine what the ISO must look like.

I'm actually playing Hearts of Iron 2, although a World War 2 Total War would be bitchin' wouldn't it?

So far the war's going pretty well.  Last time I didn't actually bother to recruit people or anything, and the whole "France is guaranteeing Poland's independence" thing didn't really bother me until I was losing the invasion of Poland and France had broken through the Siegfried Line and was bolting for Berlin.
