Downside of dinner being prepared: I timed things badly, so now I have to go water the yard and wash the dishes, and will not be able to have my piping hot dinner =/

A few years ago I was putting away the groceries and set a twelve pack of coke on the bacon cooker.  Little did I know it was still on.  About five minutes later there was this tremendous BOOM from the kitchen and when we walked in two or three of the cans had blown up from the heat, spraying pop everywhere.

I forget what we were trying to cook, but my father and I managed to get distracted and left the kitchen after having turned on the wrong burner. As in, one that still had it's cover on. We didn't notice untill we started smelling smoke, and by that point the cover had turned red hot. Still, I got to see my father go into action mode and fling a red hot oven burner cover across our kitchen into the sink, with only an oven glove for protection. So overall, I guess that was pretty sweet.

I managed to catch the cork of a wine bottle on fire one time. I was taking too long to do that knife trick, and was by a candle. All of a sudden, simultaneous fire and trick execution, and a flaming cork just goes through the air.

I may or may not have forgotten not to put a metal cup in the microwave when I was asked to heat up someone's coffie when it got cold.

Igniting a knife doesn't seem too implausible if one thinks about how some have wooden handles. If Janet means she ignited the blade, I suspect something very unusual was going on, or it wasn't a metal knife. Not that the two are mutually exclusive.

I am reminded of the time my brother managed to set his toast on fire.

There are metals that can be set on fire, but I'm not certain why Janet owned a knife made of Magnesium.

Spice as you slice knives! Knives made out of solid spices, like cinnamon, pepper, salt, magnesium, and depleted uranium!

Cover the blade in lighter fluid.
