My favorite professor is teaching a scary, scary class I need to graduate, so I have to study... also, I'm trying to get some writing published.

Calculus on Ice?

Seriously, it'd be hard to do Calculus while ice skating.

I dunno, you guys have survived Thomas the tank engine, golems, zombies, nuclear explosions, laser whales, and being on the same team as ragnarock.  I don't think something as tame as a world ending rain of lava will even slow you guys down.

Waitwaitwaitwaitwait. Wait. You're a super math genius. What class could possibly scare you?

Honors Complex Analysis with a super genius mathematician D:

So, there's calculus.  And there's multivariable calculus.  And then there's real analysis, which revolves around proving that those things work.

Then there's the same thing, but with imaginary numbers and much, much harder proofs.

I took real analysis with this guy and the grad students couldn't figure out our problem set.

So yeah, I'm scared.  This man is brilliant, I want good recommendation letters from him, and I need to take the class... so I've got to study study study, so that I'll have some sort of lead on the other students going in.  Somehow.  Not sure how >_>  Ah, well, I'll get there.

Poetry?

Nice try, but I had a >100% average in my only English class--which was, in fact, on poetry.

I just watched episode 3 of this, streaming it live from japanese TV. It's fun.

Although I'm sad that I missed the beginning of the episode. I guess I'll have to wait until the RAW comes out to watch Excellen going around naked.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I am currently reading Earth: The Book.  It is a magnificent and worthy sequel to America: The Book, although I do find the incredibly high density of sexual jokes a little grating.  Yes, I get it, relationship terms of any kind are metaphors for trying to get jiggy, you can go back to referencing old TV shows now.

I got permission from the weightlifting coach to use the punching bags in the upstairs gym. ^_^

I am genuinely surprised that you don't own a punching bag, or something to double as one.  And you call yourself a professional shitkicker.
So Earth is worth buying?

Well, I personally would get Solar System: the Ridiculously Large Tome first, as a bit of a primer. But don't splurge on Universe: Dear God This Book Weighs 30 Pounds. It's pretty much a picture book with the amount of information in there.

Watching the FA LP of Seaman. Oh man, I feel 13 again listening to all these 'seamen' and 'egg' jokes.
You have Pipes! and Maxwell Adams guiding you on this blizzard tour of excellency and greatness. You are in good hands.
Yeah, those are the only two Freelance Astronaut guys I know by name.  Usually because they're at Maxwell's house with him playing the game and Pipes! because he is incredibly loud.

Returned from moving furniture with my dad. He was surprisingly endearing today, working well with others and not being too bossy. We even stopped at a farmers market we didn't know was like five minutes away and got some really cheap apples. Even like five 5lb pumpkins for like $20. Holy damn is that a deal.
