Yes, that was pretty retarded too.  Cowofdoom, those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it.

My theory is that it was just an extreme result of Toady being unable to properly police the forum as it grew.  Now that ThreeToe is laying down the law and we have other people who report to Toady it probably won't happen again.
