As it turns out, the "Wings and Waves" air show in my area is in a few days (This Saturday), and what do you know, pilots are rehearsing formations and routines above my part of town. I think a square formation of 9 F-16s flew overhead on my walk (and much earlier today), and just now there are some small planes doing some formations and tricks. Of course, this October sun keeps blinding me everytime they fly near it, but still; with a clear sky, I can still see them and not have to guess where they're hanging out.
Now all that's left is being able to afford to visit the air show (Make that go from attending the air show to gas money; seeing as it's free admission). Fortunately, my larger board payment has already passed, so I should be able to have enough (after cashing in) to check it out. It's been ages since my last air show.
EDIT:
DetailsI think it was the
Snowbirds Skytypers that just flew overhead earlier. And the F-16 Tactical Demo happened during my walk. The Skytypers were doing some rather nimble maneuvering. I mean, they were flying really close to each other.
EDIT EDIT:
Checking out further details, I know exactly where it's taking place just by the background picture alone. Unfortunately, it seems, it won't be like other air shows I've attended in the past with the aircraft on display. Real shame, I miss being able to check out craft like the A-10 up front and up close, or walking through a C-130. Hell, I think there was even an exposed (inactive) jet engine on display as well just to show off how complex those things were.
