I figured out how to keep myself from passing out when I stay up too late.
It involves eating a bowl of cereal for a quick and easy energy boost.

Today is my birthday, as of 40 minutes ago. I just got a present from a Bay12er who more than likely did not know this little factoid.

^_^
Happy Zeroth 27th birthday Maximum!

There, fixed that for you.

Didn't help me out myself last night, but if cereal does grant such a boost to you then get at it. I always have a cup of cereal at nights to keep me from growing hungry.

You know what I just realized?  Oscar McNeil was one of my starting 8 agents.  What a trooper.

Anyway, I'm playing Singleplayer Minecraft.  Building a wizard's tower and trying to plan out a huge obsidian (or gold, haven't decided yet) ruinous mark on the front of it.

That must've been the most ridiculously confusing vote in history.  AV combined with a strange system that lets some people vote up to 7 times results in Labour Leadership contests being bizarre.

Result: Ed Milliband is the new leader.  By less than 2%.

This just in: Time Warner Cable as a collective is a bunch of cockgobbling chode-sniffers.  Except for Larry, he's a cool dude.  Likewise, Steam-service is exactly what I've feared from digital distribution since the beginning.  Turns out, if you don't tell it to use offline mode the first time, it will never ask you again.

Also, hooray, I have Internet access.

I guess that explains why Earth's economy collapses after Enemy Unknown, and only just recovers by 2080. When Terror From The Deep happens.

Actually the economy collapses because everyone became dependant on elerium after the events of the game. And then it ran out.

And yeah I don't think anyone wins the game with the USA still supporting them. They give a lot of money but they're too isolated to bother starting there.

Unless you believe in Freedom.  Sure, Europe may be the better location because the cluster of good countries is better than the one big one, but c'mon, a secret but not-really-secret ragtag group of ethnically diverse (psychotic) misfits using big guns to save the world from gross aliens is so American it hurts.

On the other hand, it's very European to let the US become alien-controlled, and then beat the aliens just to show the nasty yankees how wrong they were.

Considering that it's never specified who even buys all the weird shit X-COM recovers and reverse-engineers, it's hard to say how 'merican they are. For all we know, those hundreds of laser cannons are sold off to warlords in third-world countries so they can keep fighting, and the extra alien bodies to the food industry.

Which I don't think X-COM would see any particular problem with.  I mean, look at the background art in the funding screens.  The guy with the briefcase full of cash, surrounded by intimidating Suits?  What legitimate organization operates with briefcases full of cash?

They're obviously selling their stuff to the black market, that's why the price never fluctuates.  They set their own exorbitant prices and terrorists buy their stuff to do battle against freedom.
