You sound like the voice in my head reading text.

Meh.

Vector's Word of the Day: abseil, verb.  To use a rope to descend; to rappel.

Just looked it up, because I saw it used in a novel and didn't know what it meant.

Words, words, words.

...now that's just showing off. Downright ostentatious.

A reminder that the word "defenestration" exists in the English language made me happy today. Extra points for being one of the few words with an Etruscan origin still in use today. No, I'm not trying to be a pretentious dick, language just makes me happy.

Abseil isn't a word. It's a hobby.

Also, if there's anywhere you'd pull out your full vocabulary, it's B12. Just because I don't enjoy using big words, doesn't mean I don't enjoy knowing them.

Solifuge, you are being truly australopithecus afarensis right now.
...
-.-

Also 'defenestration' is from latin.

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

So very, very agreed.

Speaking of large to say words, after looking up Solifuge's word I saw pretentious in there, hehehe.

I few days ago I was making fun of people that tried to sound smart (I had an audience) so I lift my arm up and said, "This ham is pretentious!"  We had a good laugh.

I know ._.  Sesquipedalian loquaciousness has always been my forte, but I made a conscious attempt to improve my diction in favor of comprehensibility in middle school or so.

Hmm, okay.  I'll consider using larger words occasionally.

Redaction: God, I just realized how many "expand-your-vocabulary" books I have.

Yes, but the Latin word fenestra ultimately comes from the Etruscan language :)

This conversation is unequivocally nugatory. Let's agree to put it deep into the massif, yes?

Mine is "threnody."  I've never found a good sentence for it, though.  Forced it in a few places where it didn't belong =/
