Just gonna toss this out here. As a retired pro (albeit very low level) kickboxer, cage fighter, and martial artist, I disavow Tate and everything he stands for.

No martial artist worth a pinch of salt would ever condone using their power to abuse people. Fighting, outside of competition where everyone is consenting to violence, is supposed to be a last resort in dire circumstances where something has gone horribly wrong. A fight outside the ring is to be viewed as a complete and total failure of de-escalation skills and communication. Compounding that, beating someone who can't fight back is not "fighting," is not what we train for, and should be condemned as the abuse it is at every turn possible. I hope that jackass rots in a dank, dark, cold cell for the rest of his life.

In happy news, I'm a couple drinks in and still coherent. I may need more liquid fun.

A better happy: I piqued a friend of a friend's interest by calling Power Metal "High Speed Musical Theater," and I think they're now hooked on catchy guitar riffs and soaring vocals.

For the past two weeks or so someone has been running a twitch stream of a combination OSU bot and deep learning chatbot. I've been using it as background filler while doing other things, and good god but it has developed quickly. It was already turning around wordplay jokes by the end of the first week. It comes out with lines like this every few minutes. It still has some schizoid waffling but has become more and more consistent. It's also learning from chat reactions to what it says -- it started off by consistently saying that the Ultramarines were the best space marine chapter, but recently has changed its mind and started stanning the Imperial Fists.

The creator is also keeping a close watch on it to avoid Tay problems, so stuff like it saying that Stalin was its favorite dictator (and pretty cute) mostly died down after the first few days.
