I'm happy that today was so large.  It feels good to live.

Finally figured out what the first city builder game I every played was called after idly thinking about it once or twice every year for the better part of a decade now, and it turns out it's still available for purchase.

So I have now spent a few nostalgic hours on Caesar 3. Obviously a lot less polished than modern equivalents, and a bit obtuse in that old fashioned UI way, but still rather fun.

Ceasar 3 was a nice iteration of the series. Fond memories.

Caesar 2 was the one I used to play. Plebs are needed.

Same but I lost my copy ages ago.  I have 3 on GOG but I wasn't able to get into it, too different from 2.

There is a awesome open source clone that adds a cartload of things and another that just replicates the original with bugs and all. Google Augustus or Julius for them. Here is the link: https://github.com/Keriew/augustus

Only one way to find out  :P

Do I need Caesar 3 installed in order to play Augustus? YUP

Yup you need part of the original assets. But as time go by they are being replaced more and more with HD remasters. However don't know if there's a point when you won't need the original game, don't think so.

I have it on steam, IIRC it went on some sale or other for like two bucks.

Today I finally proved to myself that know something about small engines!

A few days ago someone dumped a petrol push mower in the dumpster and since the trash people probably won't take it I pulled it out and after messing with it a bit and finding that it didn't run but did at leas try to start I decided to see if I could fix it, and after taking apart the carburetor, cleaning it and changing the oil because the old stuff was full of gas, I managed to get it to run.

And after all that I got a free push mower that runs that I fixed myself, to bad I can't really use it because the person that threw it out pulled the wheels off. Also what the hell's with a set of wheels costing almost as much as a new mower?

Since you're going the DIY road already, make your own wheels from a plank of wood or something.

Never taught of that, it's something to keep in mind for next time or if a wheel breaks since I managed to find a dead mower to get the wheels off of.

I don't think that'll happen, I mean they can't nuke everything....         *knocks on wood*
