I walked 10 km under a scorching sun for a job opportunity. Turned out they wanted me to do the job of 3 or 4 people for less than the payment of one. Promptly told them no way, this job I can do, but for no less of $250 per month, plus either gas money or you providing transport (its a job all over the city plus one site in another city).

I understand why you want to concentrate so many jobs in one but at the long run is counterproductive and dangerous, specially if is n underpaid guy doing it.

Why in the happy thread? Beyond looking red like a shrimp now, it did not affect my body at all. No cramps or tiredness, which mean my caloric and protein input is alright, and my cardio system is fine too.

Hey, congrats on the healthy body.  There will always people trying to save money where they can, but it's often just too much to ask one person to do.

Always look on the bright side of life eh? Most of all it takes massive balls and dignity to stand in the face of such buggerers when in dire straits. But sometimes it really just isn't worth it... Can't trust someone who is openly trying to screw you when times are chaotic enough as it is

Reorganized my desk a little and bought another pair of plants, these ones being clearance candidates from the Evil Store. No biggie if they don't survive, but for now, they're more nice green things. I dunno, the apartment's starting to feel a little more like hipster None's home, yeah? Cozy nooks, a little pile of books, artwork on the walls, a cushy beanbag chair, plants here and there, plenty of candles to go around. I'm eking out my own place, instead of living modestly on the coattails of someone else. I'm sure I'll curse the lot of it if I decide I need to go far away again, but for now, it's nice.

Bought a tall stoneware vase and put the new chrysanthemum in it; the soil was so sodden already that it squelched everywhere as I squeezed it in. Was super gross. Live well, gross squelchy plant, or don't, I guess.

Here's hoping your butt flower makes it! Never forget you can use it as an endless source of casual euphemisms.

Well, most than anything was maths. Probably would end up spending more than that in gas and bus fares monthly. On top of the fuckhuge responsibility, they wanted to have an internal auditor, storer, inventory analyst and sales analyst all into one.

Chrysanthemum is a (primarily chinese, but possibly other cultures, too) euphemism for the butthole, due to the way their flowers are shaped. The more you know!

...?!

Quote from: Hasty Wikipedia search, followed by some etymology googling
The name "chrysanthemum" is derived from the Ancient Greek: χρυσός chrysos (gold) and Ancient Greek: ἄνθεμον anthemon (flower).

I dunno where you're getting this

It's fairly well known slang, from what I understand. Personally started encountering it when I started reading decent amounts of translated works of martial arts fantasy fiction, piles of which originate in areas where the slang use is seen enough it shows up in writing pretty regularly.

I’m pretty new to tf2, and I can’t believe how easy and fun Heavy is, especially on king of the hill maps. Take the control point quickly with a pocket Medic, and then just spend the rest of the game flanking. In FPSs I can only rarely hit my first shot but I generally hit my subsequent ones and I flatter myself that my tracking and aiming isn’t bad, so I can take on rocket-jumping Soldiers and jetpacking Pyros and trickstab-attempting Spies.

Only problem is a firing Heavy basically has a huge target painted on him, especially for Spies. I catch some but god they’re so annoying. And Snipers, but they can’t do anything if you use cover while capturing and flank all the rest of the time.
