I was wondering that. But apparently they do have some ability for inner digestion. I dunno to what extent a piece of meat would draw their attention but you know what? Its worth a try

Random thought: The fact that spider man can't spin webs means that he was bitten by jumping spider

This is also why he became a friendly neighbourhood spider man and not a terrible necrotism bite inducing spider man

Some spiders can sort of mash things with their chelicerae (fangs plus the attached limb,) but their actual mouth is kind of like a straw. Other arachnids also have to drink their prey but lack the venom and digestive enzyme spray of a spider, relying entirely on their chelicerae to mash and cut things into a drinkable slurry.

Some other arachnids have fang-like but non-venemous chelicerae, others like scorpions have crab claw like structures where a spider has fangs, which they use to cut and crush their prey into a smoothie. Generally they have structures past the chelicerae that serve as similar function to our lips and tongue, pulling and directing food towards the mouth.


I highly recommend watching a video of a scorpion eating up close btw, looks really cool.

I actually managed to almost kinda get a reasonable amount of sleep.   
Well, it took me a long time to get to sleep, and then I ended up dragging myself outta bed an hour later than planned, but hey, at least I tried. Hopefully this is the first step on the path towards getting my sleeping schedule on track again.    
Now to see if I'm awake and rested enough to do productive things with the day...

Speaking of spiders I walked into my carport this morning and as often happened I tore through some poor spider's net when walking through the entryway and I felt bad as I usually do that I have to constantly ruin their attempts to feed themselves.

Then it dawned on me.

I'm not ruining their attempts to catch other insects. I'm ruining their attempts to catch me

No they arent you silly they are our symbionts. They eat things that would try to feed on you.


Btw: I tried the meat thing and did not get a reaction. The meat piece was not present when I checked 12 hours later but doesnt meat very much.

In todays edition of random YT recommendations that turn out great we have Chocolate Cacao a channel of what seems to be a Japanese dude doing borderline ASMR chocolate based pastries, that all somehow look fucking amazing, just to look at, and I imagine to eat.

What especially gets me are the super accurate measurements he lists off, like .2 grams of salt or 8 grams of honey.
