Started a full-time job today.

Also, weird thing, another guy hired at the same time as me, geek dude. Turns out he's a Touhou fan. A Touhou Metal fan. Specifically, an Unlucky Morpheus fan (my favorite Japanese metal band). I found this out by asking what music he was into and he replied "oh ... just these remixes of music from this weird Japanese game". That was an instant giveaway: "Touhou."

Spiders' internal anatomy is basically a relatively complicated gut, a heart, a tiny lung, and silk and reproductive glands. There's something really neat about the elegant simplicity of it all.

The heart is really weird compared to vertebrate hearts but it basically does the same thing. It's just long and thin and doesn't worry about lungs or whatever.

Its minimalism in action, really. They have no explicit need for anything more, and so having more would be a waste of resources, which would make them less fit, so they remain unchanged, and the little fuckers exist in the tens of thousands per square kilometer.

The missus told me that "someone was weaving on an autoharp" and I'm like 'the fuck is an autoharp' and had to wait until I stopped giggling to explain that I pictured someone sitting wedged in the strings of a wheeled harp with a very annoyed look on their face. "This seat is shit and I can't see to steer!"

She was like "what could you possibly think an autoharp is... oh, well then, there's that?"

So my sister is using new cleaner in the living room, which is making the house smell like one of the old video and game rental places I used to go to. So I've been looking at some games I rented but never owned because of the nostalgia factor from that.

And because of that I finally managed to win a mission in Rescue: The embassy mission without losing at least ONE sniper to those damn spotlights. I don't entirely understand how that section works still but that was pretty great.

Housemate and I have been doing spring cleaning too (because the weather here is ) and had similar small rediscovery happies.
Also remembered that we have a ceiling crawlspace, so there's that!  It's like one of those dreams where one's living area is layed out completely differently, but in an unambiguously good way.
