I have a kitty on my chest and she is very sweet.

Happens to me every time I lay in bed with my laptop.  I set it on my chest, and prop myself up with pillows; She climbs behind it, and paws over the screen at me to get my attention.

She only ever wants attention when I am using the laptop. All other times she ignores my attempts to give her affection. She seems genuinely content to get snuggles during computer time though. Odd cat.

I think you may have misunderstood the concept of "near". ;P

I live in a rural area. My work is only a 10 minute drive at 45 mph. 20 minutes is close in USA.

The nearest village to me is like 15 mins away too. It's really not that annoying.

If you don't live in a city, you're not near anything. That's practically the definition of a rural home. I live in the USA and can walk to at least five restaurants. And I don't live in a downtown area or anything. Could comfortably walk to the nearest falafel place if I felt like crossing a monstrously large street.

No! No! They're not allowed.

Oh, right. The trade off is peace, interaction with nature, distant neighbors as in a city block away, no need to deal with random fucktards while walking, and the lack of people telling me how to keep my house up/park my car/what smells bad to cook/when to let out my dogs/what kind of decorations I can/should put up, and what clothes I can wear while outside.

I'll take 'near' meaning 'within 30 minutes drive' over literally even one of those.
