It's easy unless you have the motor control of a car-making robot. Gently pick them up.

Some spiders (and bees) will happily crawl onto a hand placed in front of them. And spiders hanging from their thread are even easier, just grab the thread above the spider and gently lower the little 8-legger onto your other hand (or wait for it to climb up the thread to your hand).

Yup, I just prod to get them going towards my hand and let them scoot over there. Big orb weavers like those gals are most comfortable suspended on a near vertical plane so I let them walk around a bit until they realize they aren't actually being threatened and calm down, then I keep offering cozily cupped fingers to pause and rest against until they do.

She has noticeably cut down on the mosquito problem around the front door/the nearby rooms upstairs so I adore her hanging out near there.

In the case of tarantulas you can handle them by blowing gently over them, they hate wind. By offering a dark spot with your hands for them to crawl, playing with light and shadows to.make them move. They aren't fond of light.

 If you wanna get them in battle mode tap with force the floor in front of them with something and see how they show their fangs and raise their front legs and pedipalps.

PD: Warning, do not manipulate tarantulas unless you are pretty sure of what you are doing.

Happier news: I've gotten really good at balancing my grits and scrapers to produce a nice silky smooth finish when oiled and waxed.

Less happy news: I wish I hadn't tested this on my legs... a card scraper(or cabinet scraper if in a holder) is not for human use.

The small one is Bandit "Scar" Blagovich, to go with the cat Sir Reginald Stumpybutt Fatass the 3rd.

Cats accumulate names like adventurers, dogs are russian mobsters, porch spiders get obscure literary references, while the spitting spider population are all referred to affectionately as "lil' creepy" because they just slink around and occasionally you find one sitting there like it's staring at you.

My dogs are named Gretel for the small seemingly helpless but surprisingly badass one, to Athena for the big, lovey but absolutely possibly dangerous to interlopers dog.

My beardie is named ZEUS INVICTA IMMORTALIS.

Two years ago was a down year for me.

I turned 20.

I fixed up a bicycle for my housemate, then remembered "Oh right I know how to do that", and put in a job application to do that.  I'm rusty but like... I did it for a couple years in high school and then the rest of my life on my own bicycles, so I'm *pretty sure* I'm qualified for starting level.

I still don't expect to get called back, but the manager did give me her card, so I can call Friday to show I'm really interested.
And when that doesn't work, apply to the like 4 other bike shops fairly nearby.  I feel like my odds are alright.

I thought she looked very nice, my housemate said she looked "natural", like maybe she doesn't shave her legs.  I think we're both right.

Also, 32.  I'm still reeling from my 8-year job not lasting forever, but I'm moving on.
