Well, actually on second thoughts it might not have been an advertisement for the show itself, but rather for a news segment about it apparently being banned by various online platforms, but it's a Happy to at least see people still objecting to such a shady move in any case.

...I'm pretty sure that last sentence was an absolute mess, but I'm currently several hours deep into a torturous overnight airport stay (part of which was spent napping), so that's my excuse.

Is it shady that infowars exists or that it is being banned? Because Alex Jones is a reactionary, bigoted piece of turd who totally deserves being shunned from online platforms.

Finally. After over 90(!) non stop days of temperatures that were way above average, and even topped 38C (100.4F) several times, plus accompanying extreme drought (which broke old drought records and cost most of our farmers a lot of harvest), a thunderstorm is rolling into the Netherlands that is bringing some refreshment. Later this week, it is expected that temperatures drop back to 'normal' for this time of year.

We really, really had a tropical summer here, it was awesome but too much. This was a summer you'd expect in Nothern Africa, not in the Netherlands. I am glad it's over if only for a few days. Haven't been able to sleep properly because of heat for 2 months I think, waking up 5 times a night because of soaked pillow. Dutch cities aren't built for this, most homes don't have airco :p
Which is why I was sleeping in my garden. Man was I glad to be woken by storm and thunder just now, a welcome sight.


They even coined a new term this year "super heatwave". A normal heatwave requires there to be 5 consecutive days of 25C+ (77F) of which two 30C+(86F).
The new 'superheatwave' requires 5 consecutive days of 30C+ of which two are 35C+(95F). We had 2 of those officially (measured in the Bilt where the meteorological institute is housed, in the middle of the country), 5 of those where I live in the south. We never had those before. Crazy times.
