Today, I got an automatic call from some law office, telling me that a civil suit had been filed against me, and that I needed to call in to find out how I was supposed to appear.  I spent the next three hours frantically running through my mind wondering which of my many foes could be trying to sue me now, which is exactly what I need piled on with all my other debts.

Turns out it was a wrong number, intended for somebody else.  I wanted to reach through the phone and strangle that attorney, but hey, I'm happy now.

I've been playing DoomRL for a few days now, and I shouldn't be posting this in the happy thread but yea.

I also had a pretty good run (on I'm too young to die ), including full phaseshift armour, the heavily modified automatic infinite ammo plasma rifle, and Malek's armour.

Then, one level in hell, I killed not that much monsters before all roaming outside the house-like thingies were dead. I still heard frightening screams coming from one room. Didn't know why didn't leave.
I braced myself and opened the door.

Three Revenants and two Arch-Viles. After they ate up almost all my health packs and armour (destroying Malek's armour, even), I finally got 'em by switching to the BFG9K. Leaving me with almost no ammo...

So. Now the bad part. I decided to savescum. Must have been anti-savescum karma, because when I tried to copy the save file, my finger slipped downwards from 'copy' to 'delete'. Nothing to be found in trash. Then I hoped that the game still knew what was going on, so I tried to continue. But the cursor was for some reason on 'exit' instead of the expected 'continue'.

Gah.

It makes me happy, though, that in my younger years I would be devastated by that, while I can now laugh about it.

I have a mancrush on this weapon ever since I realized that altfire didn't overcharge it, that was altreload, and altfire in fact switches to fully automatic mode.

Agility mod. Damage mod. Infinite ammo.

Oh God.

Note to everyone ever: Do not blow through "The wall" with a rocket launcher.

BLOW THROUGH THAT WALL.

Use a chaingun or rocket launcher and you will be rewarded mightily.

(I am aware this isn't really in keeping with the thread but this is the first game to get me this excited about killing things, and is one of the most satisfying gunfests I've ever had. So I'm happy, so I'll continue talking about full auto plasma chainguns with 11d1+10(I think) damage thank you so very much.)

I used rocket launcher - switched to double shotgun - switched to chainsaw.

Got killed almost instantly.
What is the mighty reward?

Advanced Rocket Launcher (so mod all you want!) and enough ammo to take down <insert target with high resistance to rockets here>

I'd recommend fully auto chaingun because with enough ammo you'll fire so fast they won't have time to get a shot off.

And what's the best adv. perks?

If you want to continue this, it'll have to be via PM and tomorrow. But anyway,

Capital F makes you fire till you run out of things to kill or bullets and if you take perks that let you fire faster then no one can hit you ever.

So work your way towards ammochain is my suggestion. And mod your plasma rifle with agility to make it so accurate the cyberdemon shits himself when you show up.
