I've always wondered if the Devil May Cry series is about how the Devil is allowed to weep or about a character called Devil May and somebody telling her to cry.

It's based off the "devil may care" (attitude), meaning reckless. I've never played the game, but from the title I'd assume the main character is a reckless sort, and the name refers to him/her.

It's actually from a longer phrase: "The Devil may care, but I do not."

When you call someone devil-may-care, it means more than 'reckless', though that's one part of it. Dante, the protagonist, definitely fulfils any and all definitions of the attitude, and stays so even if you swap 'care' for 'cry'.

Basically, the title means "fuck it, this is an action game so just go hit some demons with a sword and don't worry so hard about things."

Also, the title alludes to the fact that a devil cries in every single game. Usually Dante.

DOOM: Now featuring Dante from the Devil May Cry series

Doomguy vs Dante would actually be an awesome fight, now that I think about it. And technically possible, since both are fond of hanging out in Hell.

That very quickly turned into slash fiction, Egan.

All I know about Dante is that the devs for SMT Nocturne Maniax decided it was a good idea to add him. I guess he sorta fit with the other demons?

(side note: if you go to the top of that tower and jump off with Dante in your party he doesn't take damage. The cutscene doesn't lie.)

My mum got a letter today from a guy doing research on Gustav I Vasa's (overthrower of the Danish tyrants and restorer of Sweden to it's rightful place on top of the Scandinavian Hill) family and descendants and apparently we are descended from him and his son and heir Erik XIV, Sweden's equivalent of the Mad King, by way of thirteen generations or so. Not strictly patrilinear but whatever. Still gives me a greater claim to the throne than these petty Bernadotte pretenders that befoul it with their unwashed French behinds today!

Ask several millions in exchange for promising to never push your claim. Then have your vassals push the claim for you. Use the millions to invest in popcorn sales.

You should press your claim! That sort of thing doesn't happen nearly enough these days.

I decided to go for a walk today, randomly my mum and nan decided to go to exactly the same place and arrived at about the same time so I spent the day with them. I've seen lots of lovely little birds and rabbits. Ducklings, Goslings (Greylag and Canada), Coot chicks, Moorhen chicks, and various adult critters such as Martins and Swifts, and Holy Carp thats a lot of Carp, over 50 large Carp near the surface feeding in the shallows along with a few ducks, coots and swarms of damselflies.

I could possibly claim a few kingdoms myself, but I'm not sure I fancy doing so. Maybe if the government pisses me off too much, wouldn't be ousting QEII as Mercia isn't England.

They're making a open world game where you play as a shark.
The world definitely needed more games where you play as a shark
