The Last Jedi is the first movie I've noticed in a while that has that big of a discrepancy between critic and audience score (91% and 48% respectively on Rotten Tomatoes.)

Heh, I usually notice the reverse, when a movie has high audience and low critic scores.

I find the occasional old book at work, at least. I have an antique copy of The Vicomte de Bragelonne by Dumas, with an inscription from October 6, 1938.

Wow, those remind me of my copies of I, Claudius and The Lives of the Twelve Caesars. About the same time period too, my copies are from '34 and '31 respectively.

I deeply enjoyed it actually. There were about three parts that really made it for me.

Oh wow I need to stop automatically clicking spoiler tags haha.  (I only read literally the first two words before my mind kicked in).

I'm riding a fierce endorphin high.  After two days of yard work, I had leg day at the Pump It Up dance machine.  I inputted the secret code which unlocks 400 songs instead of 40 (why) which included some Beltaine of all things.
I can feel all the many places I'm aching, but they don't actually hurt.  It's very pleasant.  Also dad's yardwork (removing several trees and a fence) finally done yay, we played some Pokemon and Ingress on a trail

I deeply enjoyed it actually.

Personally, I found it alright.
Not the best in the series though, it could do with some changes.
But I won't go into details about that. It's late and I am a bit too lazy for it.

The ending however made me realize that I probably don't want to see anther SW movie.
It kind of felt like it closed a chapter, but opened a new one. One that I don't think I would enjoy very much.
But who knows, maybe the series will eventually redeem itself? Or it might not.

I enjoyed it but have no interest in future installments. The utter refusal to admit any possibility of fault whatsoever from the entirety of the production team shows a Uwe Boll-esque disconnect. I'm not into all that.
