Being at a loose end at work, I idly wandered into the book section and had a look. Moments later, without really looking for anything in particular, I found a copy of the sequel to one of my favourite books (Titus Groan)!

For ages I've had the third book in the series, but never the second. What a find. I was already planning on buying one book (The Alchemist) with my employee discount today, now I guess it'll be two - or even three, since there's a copy of the first book as well.

Explaining why I want to swear a soldier's guarantee rather than a soldier's oath* led to a very fulfilling philosophical discussion with my team. One person was momentarily shocked about me not believing in religion, but they, and everyone else, were very accepting of my alternate viewpoint and had some interesting views of their own.

*Soldier's oath: "I swear by the omniscient and omnipotent God..."
Soldier's guarantee: "I swear by my honour and conscience..."

Two happies today. First I got validation that I might not be as much of a complete social pariah that I think I am, which is nice. Secondly I noticed somebody had complimented my laughter, which is also nice.

We were originally going to have it today, actually, but we have an exam coming up and she's got a really full schedule for the week :v Plus, the restaurant we were going to go to is closed on Wednesdays.

Still though, I'm quite excited. She's really nice and super friendly, and I honestly love just talking to her. She certainly seems to enjoy talking with me, ha.

I don't have a SO at the moment, and I mostly feel relief about that right now.  Still, I spent the day doing chores and generally cleaning up my living area, and practicing cooking.  Almost like... someday soon...  maybe I do want to start looking again (:

'Cuz if I did have a SO, I certainly wouldn't have wanted them to see my place yesterday!  Blech!
Housemate spent the day working, and finally finished forging a sword and scabbard.  I think we're making fine life choices!
