I'm not saying all D&D players, just the ones who go to organized meetups seem to be extremely "socially challenged".

And i'm comparing that to these groups - board game geeks, computer programming meetups, game dev meetups, anime meetups. So not a really high bar in terms of social skills.

Well, today hasn't been the best birthday I've had (I hate being ill) but there has been nice food and plenty of interesting wildlife such as finches, moorhens and a juvenile swan with its mum and dad. The problem with going to a good restaurant is they have such good food that you don't want to stop eating but you cannot eat because you are full.

Hey, it's my birthday too!

Also I was being deliberately rude to poke fun at D&D nerds, such as myself.

Do you want your precious metal scene flooded with dreaded anime fans?

Do you hate your own kin, Reelya?

...

It's ok, even being an anime fan myself, I can only imagine how smelly and awkward a dance floor full of weebs would be.

They're mostly girl weebs though, on the dancefloor at those types of events, so there's that. Anime is seen as a cliched "dude" thing, but I think that's an out-dated stereotype. Most of the anime-related social things I know about nearby are all run by women.

I went to a bunch of geek-related meetups last year, and hands-down the worst scene in terms of lacking basic social skills were actually the D&D players.

My experience is that anime-fandom has weighed more towards women for a long time.  I know way more women who are *really* into anime than men.

D&D is a weird crowd.  There's high concentration of incredible social dysfunction.  But there's an equally high concentration of people who are totally awesome.  Although you're more likely to find the totally awesome people by looking for people who play other P&P games also.  D&D attracts weaselly murder hobos, who see nothing wrong with basing all of their behavior on what they can technically get away with.  Disclaimer that I haven't been among roleplaying crowds much for a few years at least.  So maybe things have changed in that relatively short period.

I can say that without any shadow of a doubt that your description accurately describes all D&D players except for me.

Then why does google estimate that only 353,000 babies are born a day?

7.6 billion living people, divided by 365.

You're not account for the fact that people live 70 years on average.

if there were only 350,000 people who shared any one birthday, then there would only be 350,000 x 365 living people, e.g. 127 million people in the world.

People who have already been born count for the first statistic, while only newborns count for the latter.

7.6bil? Wow, we really need to get on with colonising mars. Earth is getting crowded fast. Given how recently we hit 7bil.
