This is what you'll notice more and more as you age. There are people closing in on mandatory retirement who still act in the high school mindset with a roughly equivalent level of emotional complexity. The clannishness, cattiness, psychological bullying, macho bullshit, petty gossip, blame-shifting, work avoidance, and all the other fun bits of high school? Those are behaviors that a lot of people carry with them throughout life; when someone says that high school was the best four (or five, or six, or...) years of their life you might want to pay more attention to how they act now.
