The game looks pretty pretty to me. Then again I never really know what my laptop's gonna be able to run or not; sometimes it chugs running simple-looking 2d shit, then turns around and runs a 3d RTS with nice graphics without breaking a sweat. I dunno lol.

Parts for the desktop I'm building finally came in! All I need now is a monitor and a flash drive to install Linux with/a copy of Windows.

How does one learn how to build their own PC or laptop here? ._. I'm constantly remembering the price of my laptop (it's even one of the cheaper ones >.>) in the 20k price range for around 5 years ago, and that if it breaks down now--I have nothing to use D: ...and that I don't have around 20k here because yaaay college student savings

building a laptop isn't typically a thing

it caaaaaan be done, but unless you have some really top-notch equipment, it'll just be some frankensteinian abomination

building a desktop is pretty easy tho, there's a ton of resources out there on youtube, reddit, and more specialised sites, and it's mostly just purchasing compatible parts and assembling them together

back in the day, the compatibility thing required a lot of cross-referencing, but now you can just use pcpartpicker

e: it just occurs to me you can probably find empty laptop cases for sale, but it's not actually something i've looked into, i've only ever fucked with salvaged gear

Oh yeah, they sell cases of every level of absurdity these days. Normal, painted, transparent, covered in LEDs, whatever you want.

imo it's more fun cobbling something together with the shells of old, dead laptops anyway, but that's not a good recommendation for a beginner

I've occasionally played with the idea of making my own laptop out of one of those big pelican cases. Since it wold have enough room for lots of components and I could probally find a way to keep it cool while running, without compromising the case itself. It's a lot of money to spend on a silly project though.

Did well in duelyst today, got a pretty decent win streak. In other news, found a neat procedural music generator, with fairly deep fine-tuning options, which provides a good basis for me and flame's game-making, as neither of us are good at digital music :V


Also found a temp sprite generator, which just shrinks down google image searches from CC search. Mostly for prototypes. And a procedural sfx generator, and a proc. tileset generator.

ProcJam is full of a lot of useful things.

Also getting new tablet tomorrow, as old one recently went kaput. Gonna get a pen, as well, so I can use it as a drawing tablet among it's basic functions.
