Starfire, from the cartoon series Teen Titans. It was brilliant when first released and pretty wholesome with the character development I found it very enjoyable (and yeah, looking back, I do sound like Starfire a lot XD)

I still didn't get it whenever I saw the pictures of 'roast me' followed by witty or somewhat comedic comments following.

Yeah but she was different. That is very important to note the personal individual. (Just like how Raven was different from...well, spoilers) She was like a benevolent part of the Proud Warrior Race people rather than the KILL THEM ALL RAWR HONOR kind of their people, tried and tested through many adversities. So...yeah. She IS part of a Proud Warrior Race that does that, but she's also individually different and unique (kindhearted and friendly, which did create a lot of conflict when she was back in contact with them...)
That, and she enjoyed the companionship and belongingness that pretty much everyone had, and was part of her persona. (Although there was little on cultural integration so that would be part of why she was confused with so much slang that seemed so common )

Well yeah, given how many chances Starfire gave Blackfire she definitely wasn't typical, even if they were kin. I'unno about Raven though, sometimes (like, most of the time) she just seemed like her papa after having human emotion awkwardly transposed on top snd being run through a kuudere filter. :V

Goodness though, this is getting me nostalgic for the TT cartoon. That was good stuff. So much of the DC cartoon stuff was, honestly, much better than a lot of the shit that showed up in the comics (speaking of Starfire, eh?)

To be fair, the character IS adorable.

Puppies woke me up at 2am to go out. They are good doggies. There were just enough coals in of the fire left in the furnace to kinda get it going again with another real dry bit. Hopefully won't be freezing once I actually have to get up!

Never really watched Teen Titans myself, but if I recall, didn't the series start as completely serious, like Batman-ly serious(given that Robin is one of the main cast)? Now the art style and overall writing makes me think of The Fairly Oddparents.

Actually the newer one, Teen Titans Go, has minimal relation to the original beyond the characters. IIRC it's based off a side comic.

teen titans go (which you'll see now) is a separate series using the same characters and setting in an entirely different format

they've brought up the older series primarily as a way to make fun of how low-quality the current one is in comparison (being an episodic gag series rather than a reasonably serious series with a myth arc as the earlier one was)

my personal opinion is that teen titans go makes very good use of DC comics as a place to make stupid gags and that nobody should let the existence of something based on something else to ruin said something else (remember the avatar movie? it 100% existed, it just fucking sucked, but the cartoon's still great)
