Is it not unbearably hot where you live?
Besides, darkness is comforting in its way.  More stars, less eyestrain.  Not entirely emo/goth/metal reasons :P

Autumn is by far my favorite season.  Halloween, harvest, pumpkins, crunchy leaves...
I know it won't start for a long time because atmosphere is laggy, but still.  It's like a nice cool breeze to look forward to.

Postedit:  Also yes I have trouble sleeping past dawn, which really sucks for my work hours.
