I mean it's the best of either of those things, possibly of all time.

Jim Sterling has had his website for 10 months, has reviewed a game approximately 5 times a week and this is the second game he's ever given a 10. For comparison, he gave Until Dawn, MGSV and Super Mario Maker a 9.5.

If I were to compare it to the other best RPGs I've played, I would compare it to Mother 3... but I like Undertale better, especially gameplay-wise but also narratively. It is probably the best video game I have played in my life.

It actually makes me emotional to think that some people are going to live their lives without experiencing Undertale, as it is the single game that I would show to people as what video games are about and what they can do as a medium. There was obviously argument for games as art beforehand, but even if nothing before reached that level, Undertale does.

I'm not quite done with my first playthrough yet, but I'm pretty sure I'm damn close, which means that it does all that in 6 hours.

On the plus side, the amount of hype is convincing me that new comicbooks can wait.

If the Toady One were to provide me with an early access copy of the next version of DF, i would be like nah gotta finish undertale.

I actually interrupted the first DF modding i have done in aomething like 6 months (which i was enjoying) to play it and do not regret it in the slightest

Going to stay off Bay12 and any other gaming communities until I have time to play Undertale before the hype kills me.

I don't like the 'Pacifism = Good Ending' stuff which happens in games.

It's like, in The Banner Saga, there's a pretty noticeable point where if you're a good person, it comes back to bite you in the ass way later in the game.
Add that to the Witcher. Be a goody two-shoes, end up getting walked all over.

I mean, I'm glad for the whole morality angle thing but it's just painful sometimes.

That being said, I'll go play Undertale first and then figure out whether or not I still feel the same way about it.

Not sure exactly what that means, but there's an enemy type that can be defeated by getting into a flexing contest and most of the game has a really earthboundish comedy tone like that. So i don't think that's accurate

Finished my job interview today. They had a test involving several technical problems for me to solve, since it was about a corporate lawyer job. Overall I think I did pretty well, and they said they would call me again in a few days. Hopefuly everything will turn out well, bit nervous though :v
