Got cheeky Nandos for free by selling my information to Portuguese merchants, then whilst eating my Nandos we got even more free Nandos because some kind ladies were honourable enough to leave their cheeky Nandos leftovers to us.
And that was preceded by MAXIMUM CULTURAL ENRICHMENT at the National Portrait Gallery. Which was surprisingly juicy.

Probably should have let the paint dry before putting them on display, then. :P

Finally got DFHack running. With this I'm not only in charge of the fortess, I can actually roleplay an evil genius loci and (for instance) mind-control enemy units to my side. Or make them die by my wrath :)

I have learned that attempting to dissolve styrax absolute in alcohol leaves behind a sticky gum of a residue. I foolishly touched it with my fingers, and even after the application of steel wool and soap, they remain sticky, even an hour later.

Smells amazing though, so there's that.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Water won't help. You need something more apolar, like acetone or fuel.

Or alcohol.

Spent the morning clearing a massive tree strelitzia. Taking an axe to the stems is immensely satisfying (carrying them off afterwards, less so).
