Now that I'm thinking about it, they could make semi-autonomous robots with insectoid level intelligence for battlebots. The only goal to smash the other bot, which is the only other target in the arena. Make it detect motion, have it move towards the motion while flailing whatever dangerous hazard it has, and have it repeat until all motion it was tracking has ceased. ...Probably also would want to include a killswitch to turn the bot off without needing people to come near it and trigger a motion-kill response.

Battlebots first episode on now. HOLY SHIT IT'S SO HYPE AAAAAAAAAAAAAA

The first battle had robot bits flying everywhere from what was basically a helicopter turbine on wheels. So cool.

This needs to be adapted into DF Arena Mode. Especially placing custom traps, and assigning who owns them (teams) and such.

Not to forget, nostalgia rush. I remember seeing the Mythbusters, before Mythbusters, as competitors.

EDIT:
I just remembered, I remember having a Deadblow/Minion Battlebot model kit. I don't think anything's left of it anymore, but it was pretty neat. Most control over them was a rubberband acceleration (pullback and release), I think.

Battlebots round w/ Nightmare vs Warrior Clan.

One of Warrior Clan's minibot drones had a flamethrower and got caught under nightmare's big-ass sawblade. The minibot literally EXPLODED and spread shrapnel everywhere.
