Summer has started a few days ago, and I've decided to finally give a JRPG in my steam library a go now that I have free time that is not projects, or procrastinating. So how is it, well...

Probably hit and miss for a lot of people, but I'm liking the writing. And the battle system. And how it takes itself as seriously as it should. Plus you get to play as the Sega Neptune.

My first experience with Hyperdimension Neptunia came when I stumbled upon a Let's Play on Something Awful a few years back. If I remember correctly, it starts out with some stupid fanservice and then once it's gotten that out of the way, actually becomes a decent RPG. I never actually got around to playing it though. It's not emulatable, is it? I could've sworn it was on the PS3, a console I have never owned, much to my disappointment.

It's the remake, which is on sale now and on the PC.

This one actually had a budget behind it, compared to the original, which I never played. There's been some cast changes from what I hear, such as Nisa no longer being in this. Pretty sure the RPG elements were improved compared to the first one, although you might wanna pack some healing items. Healing skills seem to be in combat only for whatever reason. Plus this version gives a bit more control over the difficulty and the amount of grind through unlockable toggle able options.

Happy birthday!


I have two three four things to be happy about today! Exams are interrupted for a four-day weekend, I spent forty currencies (equivalent to about four American currencies) on art pencils, D&D is a thing that is happening that I can play, and I just discovered my city is running a donation drive thing for homeless shelters this winter. It's nice when the government does things right.
