I'm pretty sure I just tore a morphology test a new asshole.
Praise Haspelmath!
I may turn out to have been terribly overconfident, but pah.

Finally done with XKCD's time comic. That was a good experience.
A very good experience indeed.
Did you watch it with the appropriate Timing, one frame per newpix ?

I'm feeling quite proud of my GM posts lately. Sure, I'm not as good a GM as Wrex or other people, but I think I'm getting the hang of it.

GG

Old man Trout rises from his wagon-sitting position after muttering to himself he strides in front of the group, adjusting his hat. Deftly wagging his finger, "Now listen here you whippersnappers! I didn't bust my ancient ass coming out of my hole in the ground just to be robbed by some backwards natives! You younguns go on scamper back home before I go all midevil on your hides! I'm given ya the count of three! One. . . Two. . ."
Barnabe's "Friendliness": 6 + 1

You amicably dissuaded the Fiends from exacting a toll on the road they didn't even build. If anyone was to extort you, it would be the radioactive dust that used to be the civil engineers two centuries ago. For some reasons, the three Fiends (who are likely incredibly stoned) decided you are the Messiah come again.

"It's you! Vermin Supreme! We have awaited for your return!"

The three ran over to join you.

"Wh-where are you going?! Come back here you- gah!"

The Fiend Leader let loose a plasma pellet. It sailed towards a Fiend and his head exploded into a fine charred mess. The other two looked around confusedly and began shooting everywhere. Including at you.

"Okay scratch that!"

Take cover behind a wagon and take an AK47 off the top.

3: You try for the time-tested method of taking cover behind things and shooting the everliving heaven out of things, but the wagon is made out of mostly cloth-covering. Hardly a useful cover. Especially not with bandits shooting ionized gas everywhere.

VATS groin shot with sniper rifle.

1: You aim for the Fiend Leader's groin. You were so focused on trying to shoot her that you didn't notice the commotion. You are interrupted by a plasma shot whizzing past you. Fortunately, it missed you. Unfortunately, you caught on fire from the heat.

Uh... uh... uh... grenade launcher! Yeah! Shoot 'em! With VATS and stuff!

1: You aren't sure who to shoot at first, and the Fiend Leader seemed like a good idea. Those pesky plasma disagreed, though, and you had to jump back to avoid one, making your shot go wide. To your horror, the grenade is launched straight into the air and seems to be on a trajectory towards you.

I love the smell of plasma in the morning.

No see, the bottle was supposed to be smashed, it's part of the curiosity. So you actually gamed them into giving you a 20% discount on a functional product.

I believe that that is Prequel. Probably.

Ordered some curiosity cola online. When it arrived, one of the bottles was utterly smashed (only the base and neck were recognisable). After sorting it out, it turned out that I could get a 20% refund on the item. I lost 1/12th of the item an got 1/5th off.
There's actually a difference between asking for a refund and a replacement. If you get in touch with their customer support, you could probably get a new bottle either for free or at the expense of whoever broke the bottle. Of course, the problem is proving you didn't drink the cola and break the bottle yourself in hope of a free one.

Having contacts (not in the vision correction sense) is amazing. I can circumvent the fact that the primary past paper repository is broken and confirm the content of the next exam in the space of thirty seconds with two messages, and only for the price of very occasionally having to make small talk and significantly less occasionally help someone out with something. Also cellphones are amazing wow, this used to be much harder.

What is this from please tell me.
The quote is from Dragon Age's Sandal.
The picture seems to be from Prequel, the "suggestion" comic whose author seemingly absolutely hates the main character and does everything in their power to make her suffer. This is, of course, my impression from having read only the first chapter or so, (does it even have chapters?) so the character punishment might get better later, but from what I'd heard at the time, not by much.

Yeah, the character punishment does seem to be getting better.

Prequel, or: Making a Cat Cry: the Adventure is the full comic title. It's pretty descriptive. The breakdowns become fewer in number as the comic progresses, but much higher impact because there actually is hope to crush.

I suggest giving it another read, since my opinion had a complete 180 when I read it again (From your position to really liking it) but I was fairly into the comic at the point of me suddenly disliking it due to *SPOILERS*. If you didn't like it by the first bits (I think it does have chapters), you might not change your opinion like I did.
The thing I like about it is that terrible things happen to the protagonist... but she seems to be actually learning from them. Another thing is that the character isn't fully controlled by the players; they're suggestions, not commands. This helps put a lot of stuff into context.
