Finally, after almost 5 years of living in America, I have bought pants that isn't formal wear from an American store.

Actually, we bought pants when we arrived but that was because parents keep bugging me about new pants. But this pants is because I wanted pants and that makes all the difference in the world.

That feeling when you deposit a check, only to spend the entire sum on a book.

Also, that feeling when your friends get married and you somehow profit off of the whole arrangement.

“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Breaking news. Pants is important! And great! But also terrible! Poi!

They're very comfortable headgear, though. Especially pajama pants. You can wrap the legs around your head to keep them secure, and then tie them off in some sort of knot. v stylish

Thank sweet merciful fuck, my ordeal is finally over. It's 8:05AM and I am home, with a warm beverage at hand and a poncho draped over my knees.
The first thing I did when I staggered inside was turn on the heater (which, sadly, isn't working for some reason), turn on the kettle, and then go wash my hands under hot water. I feel like an old man. It seems that my prolonged time spent shivering in the cold just grabbed all my existing bruises and made my muscles stiffen horribly. I think what I really need is a hot bath, but I ain't got time for that.

The only Happy I have apart from having survived and made it home is the unruly horde of cockatoos I passed just up the street from my house. I'm guessing it's the same flock I've seen in the past, in a bunch of trees next to the nearby golf course, but this time they were all over the footpath, in the trees along the street, all over the telephone wires, flying about squawking and swooping each other... they're certainly cooler than my other neighbours. :D
I didn't even get shat on as I walked under them! Perhaps they saw my miserable state and had mercy.
I wish I could have snapped some photos of them, but my phone's battery was too low. Alas.

Now, I should really probably get some sleep. Perhaps I'll just sleep in my clothes so as not to expose my tender flesh to the cruel temperature. And a hot water bottle wouldn't go amiss, either. Hopefully I can get a bit of sleep before doing stuff later today... I think I'm gonna have to load up on energy drinks.

It still only gets as cold as 10 degrees at night where he is though. It's hardly a real winter.

Yep, and it's pretty brutal. The wind's howling sounded like the intro to some old horror film or something.
(Also how on Earth did you manage to forget that? That'd be like me forgetting that you're from America's frozen lumberjack hat. :P)

New Happy: Got paid early. Yieeeeew.

Just 'cause I live in a more sensible biome than a lot of you people doesn't mean Winter isn't comparatively unpleasant!

Wow, ten degrees Kelvin? I probably wouldn't be able to breathe with temperatures that low...
