Holy crap my potato plant flowered!  I didn't know it would do that!  Should have recognized the buds days ago.
It's just a grocery store potato that was getting spotty, so I put it in a window pot and watered it.  I don't know how tubers actually reproduce...  Obviously they don't have hanging fruit.  I could look it up easily, but maybe I'll find out.

(I'm pretty sure the eyes will grow new plants if you cut them out and plant them.  But how does it work without interference?  Time will tell)

Potato plants produce flowers, and seeds like most other plants. Sometimes, if the conditions are right, you will get a potato "fruit" which looks rather like a small, green tomato (but don't eat it, it will make you sick). The seeds are in that, and you could plant them if you wanted and grow a brand new potato plant

However they are almost never grown from seeds because

1. It's just as easy, and quicker to grow them from a seed potato (basically just a cut up regular potato).

2. When you grow them from a seed potato, you get an exact clone. When you grow them from an actual seed, the traits you end up getting are somewhat random and you never know exactly how it's going to turn out. You might end up with a really great potato plant, or more likely something that's barely edible.
