Oh wow I did not realize there were was more than one verse.  But I was able to recite the whole first verse (IE what would be sung at a football game) without prompting so...

Maybe because, as a young child, I thought the war stuff was pretty cool.  I remember wondering if an army had to surrender if their flag went down.

Also due to boy scouts.  It's like junior junior ROTC, seriously.  Which is funny since I'm pretty sure it's originally British.

I quite like the Canadian one. It's short, peaceful, and relaxing.
