It's not just Will Ferell - although he is annoying - the main issue is that the character he plays is completely unnecessary to the story and pretty much the worst way they could have resolved the movie. The casting issue was just insult on injury.

EDIT:
When you get down to it, the kid was unnecessary and annoying too, but he would have been acceptable if his role in the movie had been pared down to noticing that Emmet had fallen off of the table and putting him back into the lego world, End Scene. This is how the live action portion should[/i[ have played out, but for some reason the writers decided that they had to add a bunch of unfunny saccharine bullshit instead.

I played guitar for probably an accumulated total of 5 or 6 hours today. Haven't really been keeping track. This is better than my past track record from the last months of maybe half an hour a day.

Course, I don't think I accomplished much but it's better than playing video games or sleeping in my free time.
