First, make mashed potatoes. Then, put them in an omelette, preferably with lots of cheese and pepper.

“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

That sounds pretty good, actually.

I dare to presume you are going to be in Moscow while studying in Russia? Or St. Petersburg? That would be rather different experience than Novosibirsk, where there are also plenty of scientific activity. Congrats anyway.

St. Petersburg, at the Nevsky Institute of Language and Culture. As for Portugal, I'll be at Coimbra.

Don't know much about it. But Petersburg is generally more beautiful than Moscow, so lucky you. It has more imperial heritage left to see. Also, there are white nights which people romantisiize a lot - it is when the dim natural light is up all night. When I visited it was more pain in the ass rather than an exciting experience, but maybe you'll like it. You can also go to Finland for weekends from there, leaving friday evening and returning sunday evening, spending two days there.

Perfect score on my first short paper for the semester. Apparently the professor actually likes my strategy of picking something I didn't like about the material and bitching about it for a page or so? I'm surprisingly okay with this. Probably has to do with the notion that effective complaints require actually thinking about the topic.

Hey, just because I think it's pretty cool, here's something called Reactor Incremental.
By itself, it's kind of like a tycoon game, but what I like most about it is it's basic rules, each cell that is used has a set lifespan, the most basic with 15 ticks, each tick, the most basic cell produces 1 energy and 1 heat, because heat doesn't naturally dissipate (so far) if the heat goes directly into the reactor apart from a very slow manual method, you need Heat sinks, these take the heat from adjacent cells, store a small amount, and naturally dissipate the heat, so far so simple, right?

however, two cells next to each-other gain energy production bonuses, as they cause additional pulses each tick, meaning each cell doubles in energy generation, having a net total of four energy per tick, but the amount of heat generated Quadruples, ending up with 8 heat generated per tick, this continues all the way up, so with the end-game cells that generate 2.893 Million power and heat, so stacking two together end with 23144000 heat generated per tick, there're also stacks of cells, which take up one space, but act as if they are two or 4 cells stacked together.

Well I think it's interesting.

Obviously, doesn't stop it from being fun finding out all of them for yourself.
Also, there are ways for the reactor to automatically vent heat, it's from heat exchangers, I just hadn't got far enough along to use them.

That sounds like IndustrialCraft's reactors. Or the other way around.
