I made my first omelette :D
One step closer to complete political parental independence.
I made my first omelet when I was... 11? Yeah, seems right. 2 years after my first cake.
Bloody awful. I don't like eggs at all except when used in baking. Not before then, not during then, not after.
But if you enjoy eggs, then I would be pretty sure an omelet with green onions and real cheddar would be delish. It's just the eggs that I don't like.

My parents wanted to teach me independence early on, but never forced me into it; I guess I never learned. I can still only make fries, whitecyan gravy, cakes, and I guess omelets. Oh, and anything that you microwave, or is more or less the same thing (frozen pizza in the oven counts).

Did you see the pictures of my poutine I posted in the random things you made today thread? About a week ago?
That's the reason I learned to make gravy.
((I think someone mentioned it looked like a "smurf jizzed on your food"))

I love a good poutine. I love a creative and colorful dish, too. So, I made a creative and colorful poutine. :)

In addition to work, a couple of lectures and a homework assignment, I read a book today and cooked a decent meal. This semester might best be titled "The Most Tedious Possible Hell", but I think I fuckin' got this.

“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I made a second good meal today! It turns out you totally can make a good gravy without drippings or flour. The power of shenanigans is mighty, indeed, and now I have a bowl of gravy ramen.

EDIT: oh my god this is the best gravy I've ever tasted

Recipe. Probably serviceable with any flavor of ramen, likely including the vegetarian ones.
